Wat is PCB-design?
PCB is short for printed circuit board. It is a component with lines and pads that connects several points with each other. On a circuit board, signals and currents can be conducted between physical devices. External electronic components are soldered to the surface of the circuit board which creates an electrical connection between two parts. Since solder is made of metal, it also works as a strong mechanical glue.
What does a PCB-design developer do?
PCB designers know a lot about electrical engineering. They understand how individual parts are connected, and how embedded systems work. They have basic knowledge of computer architecture of embedded applications and real-time operating systems. They understand how the location of circuit board components can be determined, since the placements of these is of great influence to the performance of the PCB. They also know the difference between digital and analogue signals, and how overheating of components can be avoided.
