Wat is PHP?
PHP is a commonly used open-source, server-side scripting language that was specifically designed for web development and can be used within HTML directly. What differentiates PHP from a client-side language such as JavaScript, is that the code is carried out on the server, after which HTML code is generated that is then sent to the client. The client receives the results from the script, but doesn’t know what the underlying code was. This makes it easy for the code that is carried out to stay hidden to users.
What does a PHP developer do?
A PHP developer is responsible for the management of the back-end services and the exchange of data between the server and the users. Their primary focus is the development of all server-side logistics, definition and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high quality actions and responsiveness on requests from the front-end. The integration of front-end elements are also involved, so these developers have a basic knowledge of front-end technologies. Because PHP is quite broad, there is a lot of variation in the different expertises a PHP programmer possesses.
